Award-Winning Technology Transfer –
Saxon Transfer Prize 2025

The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS and AMAREA Technology have been recognized with the Saxon Transfer Prize 2025, awarded by futureSAX, the official innovation platform of the Free State of Saxony (Germany) on June 25, 2025.

The award honors the successful transfer of the 3D printing technology Multi Material Jetting – a high-performance 3D printing technology – from research to industrial application. MMJ enables the efficient additive manufacturing of complex, multifunctional components made from ceramics, metals, glass, polymers, and composite materials.

» The transfer project is a great example of how one can boldly broaden the view to a comprehensive partnership between technology provider and spin-off and how one can also trust a start-up to commercialize a technology comprehensively and profitably. IKTS is thus focusing on the opportunities and pursuing an approach that has not yet been widely established in the Fraunhofer world and deserves to be emulated. «
